Carnival China Cruise Shipping Company Staffs Up

The China State Shipbuilding Corporation and Carnival Corporation have teamed up on a venture they are calling Carnival China Cruise Shipping (CSSC).  The recent naming of East China sales director Chen Yinglan, along with other key appointments is an indication that the new company is gearing up to start operations.  The cruise line will operate under the name Adora Cruises.

In addition to Chen Yingland, the group also named Lin Binbin as sales director in South China, with Sun Wen assuming the same role in the northern region.  In a translated statement CEO Chen Rangeng said “The three are senior cruise people who have been deeply involved in the industry for many years.”

The company’s main home ports will be in China and will run international routes through East and Southeast Asia all year long.  The company also claims that it is committed to eventually operating departures worlds wide.

Adora Cruises will start out with a fleet of three ships.  Two of which transferred from Costa (Atlantica and Mediterrania) and a new build that is currently on the way.
