Celebration Finishes Its First Batch of Beer

As we all know by now, Carnival Cruise Line has taken a very proactive approach when it comes to hops and barley. When you start building legitimate breweries on board, you can have some fun and get seasonal. The cruise line’s newest ship “Celebration” will be the fifth Carnival ship to brew beer on board and they’ve finished their first batch just in time for November.

Brewmaster Michael Deichstetter has just put the finishing touches on a type of beer known as Festbier. This is a well-known flavor that is very popular during the Octoberfest season. Deischstetter describes the beer as a light-bodied golden lager with German roots. It also has notes of melon and strawberry with a clean, dry finish.

The brew crew over at Carnival promises that this will not be the last special brew on Celebration. If you’re a fan of the already-established Carnival brews, you won’t have to worry. Crowd pleasers like Thirsty Frog, Parched Pig and Carnival Birthday Beer will also be on tap, ice cold and ready to pour.

Joining the Vista, Panorama, Horizon and Mardi Gras- Celebration will be ready to launch in November and run seven and eight-day sailings from its home port in Miami.
