Princess Cruises Kicks the Tires With NASCAR

On Tuesday, August 16th, Princess Cruises announced the details of a major partnership between the cruise line and Trackhouse Racing to sponsor Daniel Suarez in this year’s NASCAR Cup Seriese.  The deal revolves around Princess being the teams primary sponsor for two big races, as well as the development of a program that will enable racing fans to travel the world on various Princess Cruise ships.

The races that are lined up for the sponsorship for Suarez’s number 99 Chevy Camaro will be Sunday, August 21st in Watkins Glen, New York and on October 23rd at the Homestead Miami Speedway.

Also joining with Princess will be Suarez’s teammate Ross Chastain and between the two, they already have three trips to victory lane this year and are among the favorites in the 16-driver playoffs that start on September 4th at the Darlington Raceway in South Carolina.

It sounds like no one is more excited about this partnership than Suarez himself as he imagines his upcoming vacation after a long year. “I can’t certainly tell you the type of trip I am going to go on this offseason if we win the championship.  I think everyone has heard of Princess Cruises and dreams of going on a trip somewhere special.  I hope we can help a lot of people do that soon.”

Princess Cruises President John Padgett says “We are proud to partner with Trackhouse Racing and enter the NASCAR world.  We look forward to showing NASCAR fans the exceptional vacations Princess Cruises offers.  We have a lot of plans that we think NASCAR fans are going to really like.”
