Who wants a free cruise? Well if you’ve been a good “first mate”(Virgin Voyages speak for what we call travel agents) you just might get the call. The renegade cruise line recently announced that they would be hosting a voyage onboard Valient Lady that would reward their top 100 agents (and one guest each) with a complimentary cruise to Key West and the Bahamas.
Whether they knew it or not, travel agents were competing during the months between November 1st, 2021, and October 30th, 2022 for the honor to be one of the chosen hundred. Winners will be booked in a sea terrace stateroom with $200 in Sailor Loot (onboard credit) to use on this four-night itinerary that will set sail on Jan 4th out of Miami. It is interesting to hear of a retrospective incentive campaign. It may have resulted in more revenue if the first mates actually knew they were competing. Perhaps many did…who knows.
During the sailing, there will also be an exclusive gala called the Golden Ink Awards. This star-studded affair includes a cocktail party, cabin drips with Virgin Voyage merchandise and drinks! This is a way for the folks at Virgin to show appreciation to the travel agents who have prioritized the Virgin Voyages brand in their critical first full year of service. Categories will include best creative marketing, best sales manager and many others.
Remember, the contest is in play until October 31st, so there if you think you are close, there is still time to fight your way into the winner’s circle.
