Daniel Farias, 45 of Bloomington Minnesota was indicted on abusive sexual conduct charges stemming from an incident onboard Celebrity Summit in August of 2022.
According to the complaint, as the ship was sailing from Iceland to Boston, Farias approached a crew member in a midship restroom and began rubbing his forearm. When the victim pulled away and questioned the behavior, Farias then allegedly used both hands to grope the victim’s gentiles while making an inappropriate sexual comment. When the defendant saw how upset the victim was, he apologized and asked the victim not to report what had occurred.
Farias is required to appear in Federal Court in Boston on January 20th at 2:15 pm. The incident, which occurred on August 30th, 2020, in the early hours of the morning, can land Farias up to 2 years in prison and $250,000 in damages if found guilty.
