Major Cruiseline to Introduce Starlink Internet Fleetwide

In a statement made earlier today, Carnival Corporation announced that they will be introducing SpaceX’s Starlink fleetwide- which will provide a next-generation internet connectivity experience on board its cruise ships.

Whether guests are working on board or simply want an easier way to share their cruise experience on social media, there has become an increased demand for efficient onboard connectivity.  Carnival Corporation is committed to providing this by using Starlink, which is considered an industry leader in Low Earth Orbit satellite technology.

Carnival began rolling out Starlink on select ships onboard Carnival Cruise Line and AIDA ships this past December and will continue to install the technology across all of its sister brands over the next several months.  CEO Josh Weinstein said, “For many of our guests, it has become more and more important to maintain the type of connectivity at sea that they’ve become accustomed to at home, and of course to share the unforgettable experiences of their cruise with friends and family.”

Because of the satellite’s low orbit, this will provide an improved level of speed and connectivity despite the fact that cruise ships often find themselves in some of the most remote locations on the planet.

Weinstein is confident that this upgrade will provide a specific service that is in high demand for modern-day cruisers.  “We are in the business of delivering happiness, and Starlink makes it as easy as possible for our guests to share all their great moments and memories, giving them even more joy out of their cruise vacation.”
